Harald the Hard-Ruler

A runestone I erect,
In tribute to my king,
Who in lands so faraway,
Where icons wept,
And eunuchs prayed,
Glory made, of which I sing.

To gilded Greece sailed we,
Down rivers of the north,
Portaging where rapids run;
And earned our fee,
With sword-blade swung,
When dragon-boat…
