I Will Wait
I will wait until the Lord comes,
That day when all creation thrums
With his presence, imminent force,
Events of otherworldly source,
Long-promised when he from us went,
And comfort in the Spirit sent.
Always then will we live in bliss,
What now is only hit or miss:
Sometimes we feel close, others far,
The trials of life our yearning bars
To embrace, with every hour,
The calming peace of that power.
So let us think of what will be:
The salvation of you and me.
Our souls will then eternal live,
Wrapped in the goodness that he gives.
For that feeling it is I thirst,
But I will wait, though my heart burst.
