Late Summer: Poem

Late Summer
by Cosmic Poet Simon Pole
The rumble of the idling car,
And aroma of mucky tar,
A flavour which is spent in spoons
Of a late summer afternoon.
The blush of faces, tawny bods,
The sinking sun still struck with rods
And crayon rays of yellow light
A restive flock not yet in flight.
And plays the dog with curling…
